LSU Health Affiliation
The LSU Healthcare Network (LSUHN) is a group of multi-specialty physician practices.
It is the faculty practice component of LSU Health New Orleans. Comprised of members from LSU Health Sciences Center. The LSU School of Medicine was founded in 1931 and has risen to the ranks of the region's flagship institutions for medical research and delivery of care. Prior to privatizing in 1997, the faculty group practice now known as LSUHN operated directly under the LSU state system. LSUHN is now a private, not-for-profit organization.
LSUHN’s affiliation with LSU Health New Orleans extends beyond that of just the medical school.
LSUHN offers out-patient physical therapy services in affiliation with the School of Allied Health Professions and oral and maxillofacial surgery services in affiliation with the School of Dentistry. Both of these service are conveniently located out of the St. Charles Avenue location.
LSUHN also partnered with the School of Nursing to open two grant-funded nurse practitioner run clinics at senior living communities in New Orleans.
The clinics are conveniently located on the grounds at both facilities providing convenient, easy access for residents. Locations are in New Orleans East at the beautiful Village de Jardin senior living community and the second clinic is located on the grounds at the Terraces on Tulane - a senior living residency run by the Volunteers of America.
