Practice Manager (Primary Care and various Medicine specialties)

Position Location: Administration

  • Oversees and manages administrative functions within assigned office or division.

  • Manages the day to day operations of a physician practice.

  • Serves as a working supervisor to assist other staff in the day-to-day operations.

  • Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.

  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management.

  • Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, and payroll.

  • Direct employees to meet all mandatory HR requirements

  • Complete performance appraisal of staff members.

  • Demonstrates ability to create an atmosphere and conditions that are conducive to, and foster, motivation of employees.

  • Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and vendor relations

  • Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.

  • Supports special projects and business analysis as requested


 Capable of supervising Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Medical Assistants (MAs) and clerical  staff.


Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years hospital or clinic supervisory experience required.



Ability to read and interpret documents such as physician orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondences. Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.



Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to identify and solve problems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with facility personnel, patients, and the public. Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision-making in meeting department and institutional objectives. Ability to compute ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs



Capable of lifting 50-100 lbs. Must use proper body mechanics when lifting, pushing, or pulling an object or person.



Capable of working and remaining calm in a stressful environment.
